The People Side of Events: Emotional Intelligence, Communication, and Buy In

Tuesday, February 24, 11:15 AM – 12:00 PM

Great events don’t succeed on logistics alone, they succeed on relationships. For rising professionals, learning how to manage the people side of events is what sets future leaders apart. This interactive session introduces three critical soft skills: emotional intelligence, communication repair, and stakeholder buy-in.

Through relatable event-day scenarios, attendees will uncover where communication breaks down, how to repair it quickly, and how to strengthen their ability to gain alignment and trust across teams, clients, and vendors. They’ll also explore the role of emotional intelligence as the foundation for all of these skills—helping them stay grounded under pressure, understand their impact on others, and lead with confidence even early in their careers.

This session is interactive, engaging, and designed to give attendees practical tools they can apply at their very next event to stand out as leaders who bring people together, not just projects across the finish line.

Learning Objectives:
1. Strengthen emotional intelligence to better navigate stress and lead with clarity.
2. Identify common communication breakdowns and practice repairing them in real time.
3. Gain tools for securing buy-in from stakeholders, clients, and colleagues.
